Ghost Recon Wildlands

Check out the trailer

At long last we may have something to look forward to with this new version of Ghost Recon “Wildlands”

They are describing it as…   “A MASSIVE OPEN WORLD”

Who knows what frustrations ubisuck has install for us but one thing is for sure – we will have a new version of Ghost Recon at some time, the big question is just how long will that be? Apparently “The Ghost Recon Dev Team” have been working on the game for three years, we can only hope that means soon

Is it just me, or do the voice quotes in The Division sound like people playing a game of Cards with their grandmother?

At last, been a long wait between drinks, lets hope it has a map builder and auto-download to keep the momentum going in the game

    I’m sorry but I feel a rant coming on…

Sadly I doubt any of the above options will be included in the new GR:W, given we’ve not seen the likes of such features (all in the one game) since the holy f#n&c*n grail! OK maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit :)

It’s such a pity, when you consider how much it inspires players to learn about networking & code, not to mention so many other technologies that are necessary if you want to achieve your own servers, maps, mods & communities. Once I became involved in FPS games such as OGR (Old Ghost Recon) and more importantly the community’s behind the games, my curiosity got the better of me and the rest is history. This website & web server is hosted on a network I designed and built, incorporating hardware virtualisation, live migration, bonded networking, virtual routers and many other features, point is…   I would not have learnt any of these technologies if not for the above features being included in the likes of OGR GRAW & GRAW2 and more importantly a community evolving as a result.

The companies now seek to be in control of all the above features because they realized they can make more money with DLC, SADS Licensing and the communities behind the games, to hell in a handbag with punters learning anything from our product and I guess that’s fair enough however, I believe this will eventually come back to bite them and there is some evidence of  this happening with smaller dev houses including SADS & modding tools packed in there product gaining traction in the market with many more to come on the horizon.

There is still hope for the :geek:

    …rant over.

Hi guys! Been a while. I’m hoping Wildlands is half as much fun as GRAW2 used to be! I really miss those days. I’ve been keeping an eye on a new developing game (for a couple of years now) called “Ground Branch”. They have a website. I’ll be retiring sometime next year and hope to have plenty of time to play these new games. Meanwhile, stay cool and keep the faith, my brothers!

      Hey Whiskey777,

we can only hope new offerings like Ground Branch and Wildlands will help invigorate the GD community, we have lost many of our members to other clans and now facebook, can’t blame them I guess, I get the attraction it’s just a little shallow for me to devote much time to.

Thanks for posting, hope to see you again, graw2 is still playable online, fight through to the end I say lol

    Meh,
the trailer does indeed give a good impression that
Ghost Recon will — not — return to its roots (GR1&MPs).
Just more hollywoodesque run and gun in third person with big ssssssplosionsss and a story line straight out of a bad 90s action movie.
Essentially GRFS in a sandbox environment.
    No, thanks.

I’m assuming you mean GRW “Wildlands” and yeah, it’s probably gonna be crap but hey! you gotta dream, right?

I started online gaming in 2000 with OGR (Old “Ghost Recon”) and nothing will ever compare to that game for me, it’s the holy grail of tactical shooters. To this day, when I play OGR I feel like it’s real, it seems important I finish a mission, the story draws you in as the carm military briefing is so convincing. Run and Gun and you’re quickly eliminated by the bot’s.

I thought GRiN did a good job with GRAW & GRAW2 but once again UBISUCK killed it by not supporting it’s devs so now were left with a dead end which is a shame because I thought the Diesel engine that GRiN created had a lot to offer, it was completely unique, you could see where they were going with it by playing the ageia island maps. I thought GRiN did a good job with GRAW & GRAW2 but once again UBISUCK killed it by not supporting it’s devs.

People don’t seem to have the patience for it today so alas, perhaps we will never see the likes of a true tactical shooter but again, you gotta dream right?

I say, as long as there’s one old timer playing one Graw2 game online, it’s not dead! …at least yet…LOL!
